Memorabilia from several wars were displayed during the annual Liberty Day Weekend sponsored by Friends of Historic New Utrecht on the grounds of the landmark New Utrecht Reformed Church.

MEMORIES of World War II, one of many exhibits on display during Liberty Weekend June 4, 5 and 6 in Bensonhurst at the New Utrecht Reformed Church. Other exhibits included a Civil War encampment on the church lawn and memorabilia from Brooklyn's early years, in the Parish House at 18th Ave. between 83rd and 84th Sts., sponsored by the Friends of Historic New Utrecht. The minister of the historic church, founded by Dutch settlers in 1677, is the Rev. Terry Troia, executive director of the Staten Island-based Project Hospitality.
A young visitor to the grounds of the New Utrecht Reformed Church in Bensonhurst Saturday (June 5) examines World War II equipment on display as part of the annual "Liberty Weekend" celebration sponsored by a local historical organization, Friends of Historic New Utrecht. Others displays contained memorabilia from other wars and exhibits telling of the early history of Brooklyn and the nation. Additional events included a church service, tours of a 1654 cemetery, a band concert and parade.
